Book a Library Instructional Session

Information literacy sessions could include how to create a research topic, how to form effective search strategies, how to evaluate sources, how to navigate online resources, how to manage and cite sources, and more!!

A variety of tours and instructional sessions are available year-round (including evening and summer classes) and the instructional sessions are tailored in format and content to meet the needs of the course and the students. The Information Librarian is available to come to your class, or if your class has less than 31 students your session can be held in the Keyano College Library's Computer Lab.

You can choose a library session option that will suit your classroom needs:

  • a short 20 minute tour to introduce students to the collection, study areas, and services available at the Library
  • a brief 5 minute drop-in to your class to introduce students to the services available at the Library
  • a short 10-45 minute in-class session(s) as an introduction to a basic research skill or course-related database
  • an in-depth 50 minutes or longer session(s) for more advanced research skills and database tutorials
  • *New* Series (30-45 minutes per session): Gradual introduction and development of information literacy skills over a semester. Suggested topic sequence: 1. Searching Basics 2. Online Resources 3. Evaluation of Sources 4. Citation Style (a minimum of three sessions is required for booking a series).
  • a session(s) arranged outside of your regular class time

Please book your session a minimun of 24 hours in advance.
